    Being super picky, I think technically they are Terrapins; but hey, still an interesting image. It's obviously a (Terrapin) trait; we've seen them do the same in Africa...

        Turtle is commonly used for all varieties of these creature - it is only in English that a distinction is drawn between tortoises and turtles (and terrapins are just a variety of turtle)
