A tale of the Swan and the Chinese Ornamental goose (part two)

I went today to check on the swan, the chinese goose and the eggs and noted that there were only 3 eggs out of the initial 4. It would appear that a predator had taken one. There were no signs that the eggs were about to hatch but I was given a better view of the eggs today. The Chinese goose was on hand to give some warning "shouts" to keep well away from the eggs.

Thanks for the update Nat, quite strange. Look forward to update No 3
Of interest. Some years ago I covered a story of a blackbird who was feeding robin fledglings together with the two robin parent birds.

Thanks Trev. The difference in my story is that of a Chinese goose mating with a Swan after about 10 years of living together. I was given to understand that the Swan is male and the goose is female! My only fear now is that the eggs are not taken by predators before they hatch.

Nice set, Nat. Technically there are blown whites, which I'm sure you're aware of, but I realise that's not the main reason for these interesting posts.

Thanks Chris and Paul. I am aware of the whites but I was actually taking pictures of the eggs and they were my main targets. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the eggs actually hatch rather than being taken away by predators such as Crows & Buzzards.
