    Terrapins

    Have a few of these on a pond near me, not the ideal creatures, they are eating the dragonfly larva. The larger one is all of 30cm in length.

    So wrong when these get into our waterways, people buy them as adorable little pets & when that get to this size they just throw them in the nearest waterway & totally unbalance the eco system.

          David, Mark, Tom many thanks. A lot of the Terrapins that are now found in this country are the result of the Mutant Ninja craze then dumped. I don't know a lot about them but I'm given to believe they can live to a grand old age like Tortoise. The large one in the picture I've been told could be 25 year old. Sad as it seems but I feel they are here to stay.
