Samyang 85mm F1.4 Anyone tried one?

Hi all,

I am looking at 85mm lenses. I like the look of the Samyang 85mm F1.4, it has great reviews and is a very attractive price. The thing that bothers me is the manual focus. I started on manual focus, as did many of us, but I had the split circle for focussing. I do use MF on my dslr on occasions, but can resort to AF if needed. I don't know if I could use MF exclusively, especially if there is no focus confirmation.

Any Thoughts??

If your going down the route of manual focus lenses then imho your better off looking at old film era lenses with a eos mount adaptor ,I have a cracking 135mm f2.8 lens that gives super pics and bokah and cost me all of fifteen quid on e.bay

Fair comment. I have a 135mm Zuiko lens, which I have used on my 1dsii with very nice results. The adaptor was cheap enough too, with AF confirm. Hadn't really considered that Worth keeping in mind, cheers Jeff
