    Really nice set of images! Looks like the silver one has a retractable tail wheel?

        What a great set, we see two flying low over us regularly, but four must be great. We wave every time they pass level with us up in the hills & we always get a wing dip.

                  Hi Paul,

                  Great set - I reckon photographing practice sessions is the only way to get decent angles of BBMF aircraft. Not that impressed with their actual show routines because they always seem to be displaying to a non-existent crowd on the other side of the airfield!

                  Cheers,
                  Neil

                    Superb set Paul; love 'em and look forward to seeing them during the season hopefully...

                    Are they all BBMF owned airframes??? I thought a couple of those were privately owned???

                    We were just outside Oxford yesterday when two Spits flew overhead; you can hear those Merlins coming a mile off... so distinctive...

                    Good luck today; weather forecast looks good for you...
                    Cheers;

                      Hi Lee,

                      None of the airframes are privately owned in the BBMF collection - unless you mean us, the tax payers!

                      The two aircraft were probably Hurricanes - they were doing an A2A photoshoot, yesterday.

                      Cheers,

                            Thanks again Chaps for the feedback, much appreciated.

                            Just for info and to Lee, the BBMF operate 6 Spitfires, 4 with Merlin Engines and 2 Mk19's with the more powerful Griffon Engines, 2 Hurricanes, Lancaster and Dakota. They also have 2 Chipmunk Trainers which the Fighter Pilots use extensively to get practise with a Tailwheeled aircraft, which of course all the Fighters are and they of course have all been flying Jets for many years with Nosewheel steering. So taxying, and take off and landing attitudes are quite different to Jets.

                            Am very much looking forward to seeing the Lancaster back from a Major service at Duxford, when it returns it will be sporting it's new colours.

                            Regards Paul
