    Maybe Goodbye and Thankyou

    Hi All,

I'm getting an almost new Sony tomorrow, my Metabones adapter arrived today. If it works out well I will in due course sell my 6D which means I will no longer be able to post images on here.
I'd just like to thank you all for the tips, help and inspiration that's hopefully improved my pictures over the last couple of years.
    Cheers,
    Wayne

I can understand why you would move the Sony's are very nice - only reason I've not is I like a full size body to hold as a lot of my photos are long exp, most of the time hand held so need something large to hold....otherwise I'd be off as well

    hope it all works out

just followed you on flickr so least I can still see your work

Looking forward to seeing you back here when you throw the Sony away in desperation! That said, my other half has an A7ii, and it is a lovely camera.

Although you can't post photos ,your knowledge and skill still make you a worthy member .and as sometimes is the case you might well be able to help out someone with a query re using a 6D etc

Agree with Jeff. You will be missed. Enjoy the new camera and in the Pub section you could tell us how you are getting along with that camera

Cheers Guys. I will deffo still pop by. I can't believe I've dropped so much money on a body - I said that when I bought the 6D too! One of the main attractions was the fact I can use my existing glass.

Good luck with it Wayne. To be honest, I've been considering doing the same as you. Which a Sony model are you getting ?

                  Re: Maybe Goodbye and Thankyou

I've bought a 3 month old A7R2. If I can get used to the layout and sort out the menus to how I want to use it I'm expecting it to be fine. It's coming with 5 batteries and a grip and L plate so that's saved me a couple of quid. I wouldn't have got a grip but would have bought a couple of batteries and an L plate. As most of what I shoot doesn't move very quickly I think it should be OK. The AF should be plenty good enough for what I want. With native glass it appears to way outperform my 6D, I will have to see what it does with my lenses. The obvious bonuses are the ability to shoot at almost any ISO and the dynamic range. In effect it is permanent live view, the evf shows exactly how it is exposed which should be a big help with sunrise/sunset shots. I'm not so keen on 42 megapixels. The screen blacking out isn't an issue for me as I rarely shoot sport action, etc. The 4k video is nice to have but I doubt I will use it. I don't think I've ever shot video with my 6D or any other camera I've owned before it. The size and weight saving over the 6D is minimal, especially once you factor in the adapter. I've always stated I've never wanted/needed a 5D3/4 and that remains true. I'd quite like a 5DSR but don't really want a body that big. If this doesn't work out I expect I'll be back to Canon and the 6D2 whenever it arrives. If I win the lottery I'll get the new large format Fuji!
