    Oops

Nipped up to WEX today and 'accidently' traded my tired 1DX in for the 1DX MKII - first outing trackside this weekend so no pressure to sort the settings etc. out then lol.

It's a fact of life; accidents happen! Sometimes you just can't avoid them! Sometimes they have happy consequences!

Good luck & enjoy your new toy...

It's generally worth the effort of travelling to Norwich for Wex; they are very good, very experienced (in the whole) and very friendly. Did you notice any differences now they've been consumed by Calumet?
      Cheers;
      Lee

Oh dear! I didn't know that... I went once and it was like being a child in a sweetshop! I doubt it will be anywhere as good after this. I have never liked Calumet much. Still, most purchases these days are from Park Cameras with a check on prices at Wex...

        We will see!

I felt the same about Calmet as Richard, but they were the only ones doing interest free on the Sigma 150- 600 when I wanted it. They didn't have one in stock in Edinburgh, but there was one in Belfast. It was sent over to me in the wilds of Scotland in two days. So I felt that was a great service.

Funny you should mention that - showroom looked a little 'sparse' from the last time I went, Staff were as friendly as ever and my trade in deal was still good. 100 miles each way still worth it? yep without a doubt, especially on the high end items.

The only things they really need to sort out are - toilets for customers and a coffee machine, especially if you are waiting for a trade in appraisal that can take 45 mins to an hour.

              Re: Oops

You know when you get a new camera and you rush out to shoot 'anything and everything' only to find out that mother nature has heard and almost everything hides from you lol.

Had the 70-200 2.8 with the 1.4 ext on to try and get the jpeg settings sorted for first race meeting tomorrow, caught two damsels out of the corner of my eye so did a very quick 'grab shot'

Long way out at max 280mm

Shock was when I cropped in to see how bad it was. . . . . look to the left hand side

One of those - wish I had actually seen it at the time moments lol

              .DAVID.

Oh and as for the camera - liking it so far, weekend will tell for sure

                    Hi Nat,

Second pic is the crop of the first - it was cropping in to see what the tiny damsels looked like that made me see the snake, wish I had seen it there and then as I would made more of an effort to get a shot in focus. Needless to say when I went back a while later it was nowhere to be seen.

                        Tripod?

Lottery - I wish, traded the old mk1 in and the rest on the CC, racing fund should cover it in a couple of meets but still scary lol.

Quite understand how that can happen. Was in Brixham last week and kept well clear of Mifsuds as a 500 f4 might just have been traveling home with me.

You have to be SO careful, I guess it's kind of like women and shoes - some mystical power just draws us in to buy [shudder] lol

It's called GAS,just bought the 1D4 I have wanted for years ,and haven't had the spare time to even pick it up since returning from Yorkshire , her lady ship wanted a new caravan ,so it's been a mad few weeks ,selling ours ,finding one that fitted our criteria ,enlarging our access as the new ones wider ,doing garden work to make the storage area better ,then going through the new van stage by stage making sure we know exactly how everything works . Just about finished now just need

decent weather to get out snapping again .
Next Friday 9th we are having a motor mover fitted to the van and will probably return to bempton for a week to try it out .
