    Fruit Fly

A fruit fly that got into the freezer and froze.

I'm finally starting to get the hang of things.

I adjusted the lighting (300w CFLs) so that the head wasn't in shadow.

I didn't let DSLR Controller do an excessive number of images. This was 51 images at medium setting.

I made minor exposure and contrast adjustments to the RAW files in Elements 15.

I didn't let Elements do any enhancements during conversion to TIFs.

    T4i
Tokina 100mm macro on a full set of ProMaster extension tubes
    continuous lighting
    AV - f3.5
    1/250
    ISO 100
    stacked with CombineZP

nice shot but a bit degraded from the direct upload. If you were not aware never a good idea to upload direct to this forum, much better to get a flickr account and link from there.

Good job he was frozen as there is no way he would have stayed around for 51 shots otherwise

        Thanks.

I've got my own WordPress site that I run out of my home. I've got a bunch of content to add to it.

However, not a fruit fly but a scuttle fly (Phoridae).

            Good to know. Thanks.

The exterminator called it a "fruit fly". I'd been calling them "gnats".

I'm no entomologist. I don't even play one on YouTube.
