I like the articulated screen on my 70D and G12 and have found it to be a very useful feature in the past. I also like the rumoured specs on the 6DII, it might tempt me to go full frame if the rumours prove to be true.

When doing macro from very low positions on a tripod with legs splayed fully out, an articulated screen is invaluable, otherwise you have to lie down flat behind the viewfinder or screen. As I get older, I'm more and more concerned that if I lie down flat in the middle of a field, I might struggle to get up again.

Some specs posted overnight on canonrumors as CR3 (=pretty reliable) point to 26mp sensor and articulated screen ... plus announcement around end of the month ...

I have been following rumours of the 6d Mk ll with interest for some months now, and we were going to have confirmation for sure, for sure, late April--- a date which has obviously now passed

The articulated screen and high pixel count (?24mp) seem to be consistent so I would think that as and when this makes its appearance we can count on it

As for the usefullness of the articulated screen- well all you purists out there who turn up your noses at it- try it and you'll wonder how you ever managed without it!

I do miss not having a flippy screen....I'd welcome that!

If rumoured specs are correct could be great for landscape/still life work.

I have a 6D and also occasionally use a 600D at work which has the articulated screen which I find very useful for high and low shots. Having said that with my 6D on a tripod and using the Camera Connect App I can control all I need to and view taken images on my phone which is exactly what I did when Bo and I took the LE exposure shots recently in Menorca.

                    Re: 6D MkII

In answer to Antoeknee's original question, an articulated screen for me is a must-have! I suffer from joint problems and often trying to get a view of the screen with a fixed display is impossible - I had to get rid of my old EOS 20D for that reason and replaced it with a 700D. Now I am awaiting the 6D II with great interest.

Good point Tony.....I'm guessing the new 6DII will be specified between the 5D3 and 5D4.

                        Re: 6D MkII

I think this will be a cracking camera provided the size/weight doesn't increase. Improved AF not that I needed it would be appreciated by many. If the IQ is even better then what's not to like apart from the price?

The floppy screen will be a great addition. I've taken a lot of low angle shots and the occasional high one and this makes composition so much easier than lying on the floor.

£2k+ is a lot of money though for the body alone.
