    Under the Pier

When we were in Whitby this time last year it was very windy and the sea rough so there was no way I was going to go down to the lower level of the pier. This time everything was much calmer so was much braver

Lovely image, Stan with the beautiful curve and you've really brought out the textures. Works great in mono.

Very nice, Stan. One day, I hope to be able to process some of my images as well as that (and Tigger's, and everyone else's, really!)

my first option with mono is to use Nik and if that doesnt do what I want I do a photoshop conversion of the basic layer and then blend the two together by varying the opacity. With this one that didnt work as I wanted so I think I just used photoshop and then levels and curves to boost the contrast

Cheers Stan. It's early days for me with this level of post-processing and I still have an awful lot to learn. Most of it seems to be trial & error but it;s all good fun.

I do a lot of that too, its the only way to learn. Often though, I cant remember what I have done to be able to use the same sort of process again !

I like this Stan but I would like the boardwalk to lead the eye somewhere. Judging by the photo that probably wasn't possible with this boardwalk but it is just a thought... Otherwise composition is great and I love the textures! Processing is pretty darn good!
