    The House in the Clouds

Unusual building at Thorpness, Suffolk, originally a water tower but now holiday accomodation.

from a certain angle it really does look like it is perched in the clouds

Well spotted Stan what an interesting second life for a water tower. I bet there's some views from the top windows.

Very well spotted... that looks like a great deal of fun as a place to stay... but I wouldn't want to cart the shopping up all those stairs

it was originally the main water supply to the town so no problem there as without it, no water and was built to resemble an ordinary house to blend in with the surroundings. There is also the windmill a few metres away

Re: The House in the Clouds

Really is a remarkable structure and I remember seeing it on a travel or house program some years back - it was really quite posh inside though I suspect it's a little unnerving on windy day...
