    Red lily beetles

I had a small window of opportunity to get the camera out for the first time in ages. I only had the garden to play with in the time available and the macro lens was already attached.

Unfortunately, the light wasn't great and I'm still trying to get to grips with hand-held macro shots, so I think there's plenty of room for improvement.

Comments & critique welcomed (encouraged even!) as usual.

two good shots Chris, prefer the second, which could be improved by moving the bug off centre which would also get rid of the oof blade of grass in the corner

Thanks for looking chaps. I will hopefully have another go in better light (when it stops raining). There seemed plenty of larvae on the lilies which I'd normally squash off but actually want the beetles this year!

Very nice, took a couple of similar shots recently but no where near as nice as these
