    Rock Festival

I was asked to take some shots at a Rock Festival. First time for everything, but I like a challenge.

If this is representative then you've got some very nice images.

                Re: Rock Festival

Thank you for your kind remarks.

I haven't done anything quite like this before and there were a couple of other TOG's there. I noticed they weren't using flash and I did think that technically, a little fill in flash would help. I did some of my early shots with and without fill in flash to cover both options. While the next band was getting ready to get on stage, I chimped those early shots to check exposure, histogram etc. and although the fill flash shots were technically correct, with good skin tones etc., they lacked the atmosphere of the non flash shots. So there was a good reason for the others not using flash and from that point on, no flash. We live and learn!

I did get plenty of other shots I was pleased with, including the ticker tape canon and the fire tubes, so I will post some others soon.

                    Nice one Colin.

I have photographed a gig or two (a friend's band) and even a tiny touch of flash does tend to take away the ambiance.
