    both look good but I prefer the first as it has a bit more detail in the shadow areas

      Thanks Stan. The first one did start as a silhouette but the general advice given on here, including from myself, is usually to lift the blacks, which is what I did. Now having looked at some of my darker ones (not as dark as Tigger's though), I actually prefer them.

            Nice shots, a location I know very well

            Just for information, That's St Benet's wind pump, Thurne Mill is the other (white one) on the opposite bank

              Thanks Jeff. I suspected I might be wrong on that one and that the opposite one on the corner is Thurne Mill. I couldn't find any reference to the name of the one I photographed, so thanks for the info. I'll alter the tags on Flickr.
