    ....took the 5D3 and 100 macro with ring flash all the way to our back fence....any praise and criticism welcome

    Number 2 for me. Simple and effective.

    I'm all in favour of the unconventional view in the yellow shot but the black negative space is more demanding on my eye than the yellow flowers..... which probably negates it. Good effort though!
    Canon EOS R5, R6 plus the usual suspects ......

      Dahlias are always worth walking down the garden for Brian. I'm with Bo on the first image. Nice to see you've not had earwigs chomping holes in the petals. You've caught great colour and texture in this set well done. I may be tempted to go out in the rain and cut a few of mine for some still life shots.

          Peter....yes there was a black hole in the original that I cloned out!
          I didn't realise it was earwigs.

            I believe that they are the culprits Brian. You could try a trap to see if they are about. Apparently a short length of hosepipe laid on the ground may work. Tap them out of it on a morning and dispose of them as you see fit ⚰️⚰️
