    Sawfly larvae

At least, I think that's what they are. Seen on several rose bushes in the garden.

    Re: Sawfly larvae

there are many species of sawfly and this is a rose sawfly larva.

We get a different sort every year on one of the shrubs which they decimate, wait for it to recover and come back and do it all over again.

    Well captured

      Re: Sawfly larvae

Thanks Stan. It makes sense that they're rose sawfly larvae, given where they were seen (a bit like the red lily beetle on the lilies!)

I had to google what they might be, as I didn't recognise them. I was hoping they were caterpillars for some magnificent butterfly or moth!
