Any recent unwanted Canon bridge camera.

I am looking to buy any recent model Canon bridge camera (in good condition) to be offered as a raffle prize for my church due to clamour by youngsters to get into photography. They have seen all my church photography to date. I am keen to encourage these young people as it is a worthwhile hobby for the younger generation to get stuck into. I am willing to pay up to £100.

You would imho be better off going to Argos or currys ( one by sainsburys) Argos in Rhyl ,and buying a brand new one nat ,lots of models either sub 100 or around it .

First off, good on you Nat, second off have you considered contacting Cannon, they must have returns etc. Just a thought, though as said Argos / Currys etc.

Thanks Jeff & Tony for your advice. I am NOT very clued up on bridge cameras but I think this is a good starting model for youngsters to get stuck into. They can then branch out into more serious models. Whilst I am still around, I can help them as best as I can.Can you suggest some decent CANON bridge cameras which I can consider? I am also sending an e-mail to Robert to see if he can help!

I will certainly be around to ensure that it goes to a young person. For instance parents/adults can buy the raffle tickets on behalf of their children. I might add that I have a reasonable "grip" on matters around where I live!!

Thanks Tony. It looks a bit too simple! Furthermore a bridge camera gives an impression of a "real camera" that means business. I am sure you understand what I am trying to say. My grandson (16 yrs) has got one now and is quite impressed with it,which is another reason why I prefer a bridge camera- standard to a reasonable zoom distance.
