    Banded demoiselle

    I took a stroll over to the River Blackwater this afternoon looking for dragonflies but only saw a load of damselflies! Still, beggars can't be choosers.

      Thanks Bill. I wasn't sure which one was the best one to post so you got the best of the lot! I think nos 3 & 4 but am happy for others to comment.

        Hi Chris; all good, but it's #4 for me - even though the tail is going soft; it's the best as far as lack of distracting bg is concerned...

          Thanks Lee. I'm not quite sure why the tail turned out as soft as it did. I thought at the time that using f/8 for a side-on view should have been plenty enough DOF. I guess I just need to keep practising!

                although the tail is slightly out of the plane of focus, the female in 4 is the best shot for me - nothing to distract from the subject
