    Science Museum Staicase

Earlier in the year, John (colytonjohn) posted some shots from the Science Museum and Somerset House from a London visit

Having "done" most of London during last year, I made a mental note to visit these venues on our next visit

So first a couple of shots from the Science Museum, the first, standing in the well of the staircase and shooting up and the second, laying flat on the ground

First with Dee's Canon 10-18 - travelling light as it was a very hot day and second my 24-105

Nice. I think that the symmetry of the second one makes it my pick.

Of the two, it's #1 for me... It's far more challenging as an image and IMO is the better for having the graduated shades of yuk rather than the (almost) solid shading around #2... Nice work...

              Number 1 for me Stan.

Far more interesting composition. Number 2 is the obvious shot that everyone would take, number 1 is better "seen" and has more "tension" than number 2.

the first composition was the one I wanted to get in the bag as I wasnt sure if I would be able to get down or back up from the second one

Both interesting shots Stan, I can see what Colin is saying but I do like number 2.

Getting down is easy Stan. Getting back up again is altogether another matter!

I think the first is the more interesting composition....but No 2 plays a trick to make you think you are looking horizontally not vertically before your mind corrects itself....at least mine does anyway.
