Handheld Brian, quite a large crop as well as I couldn't keep the focus locked when I was closer...just rattled of 20 shots and luckily a couple were in focus

You did well.....macro is so tricky....I've been doing some myself and I think I need a monopod, had one once but can't find it anywhere.
I was doing some macro and focussing by forward and backward swaying this morning, I'd been doing it so long I found myself still doing it when I took a landscape shot!
