        thanks guys

        What surprises me is that they are a lot bigger than the resulting ladybird and there are a good few species all having different markings. This one I think is a seven spot

                yes but not really a problem as with the IS that speed should not be a problem, at least in theory

                    It is a 7-spot.
                    To be strictly correct, a larva not a nymph. Ladybirds (and all beetles) have complete life cycle - egg, larva, pupa, adult. Some insect groups, such as true bugs, don't have the pupa stage - egg, nymph, adult.
