    Woodhall Spa 1940's Weekend

    Hi All,

This weekend was the 1940's weekend in my home village, it gets busier every year, but every year the BBMF visit, by which time I was back in my garden having a cheeky glass of Merlot, with Camera at the ready

Nice series Paul, it must be great to be able to sit in your garden and capture images like this.

Lovely set of these iconic planes.

I didn't know about the weekend but would have liked to have gone since I'm not that far away

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Sue, you must come next year it's a brilliant event, allegedly 60,000 people attended, perhaps getting too big for the Village to be honest.
Have to say though, being an aviation enthusiast, it was brilliant watching the Hurricane flying very low up the main road over the top of the crowds waggling his wings as he departed.

Paul, hopefully I can get there next year, I do like these old aircraft, but i only have a 70 - 200mm f4 L IS which is perhaps a bit short in length.

Sue, that's all I was using for these shots from my Garden, anything longer is too restrictive, if you were to go to Coningsby to watch them practise a 70 - 200mm is also ok for a lot of shots as they are so close, I often use one with a 1.4 extender on, a very good investment.
