            Re: Raptor F-22A

I had a ticket for Sunday but didn't go. Unfortunately, I'd picked up some lurgy and wasn't feeling good all weekend. A two hour schlep down the motorway, 8+ hours standing in an airfield lugging motorbike gear and camera equipment, followed by the return slog didn't appeal somehow. Especially as I'd heard of Saturday's cancellations and the weather didn't look much better for the Sunday.

I wish I'd had the oomph to have forced myself, but there's always next year (although Farnborough is on next year and that's five miles down the road!)

Great set of pics, Chris. Will look forward to seeing more.

Great shots - 4 and 1 would be my selection but they're all good.

Remember the first time she displayed at RIAT and at one point in the routine it looked almost like a pure right angle turn - everyone around me just gasped it was so abrupt.

In number 1&4 it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie and then you compare the aircraft in number 5, the best of their respective era's. How much has changed in 70 years.

Imagine if we had a secret squadron of F22's, when the chap with the funny moustache decided to invade!

I was there Saturday... an hour sitting in the rain, then poor conditions till mid afternoon. Several planes taxied for photos, but the F22 pilot decided he wasn't even going to do that! I hope any war we fight is in good weather!

Mikep I have seen and photographed this aircraft several times now it is always good to see. The weather on Sunday was good until late afternoon when it started to rain.

Thanks Paul for your kind comments. Yes it was a bit of a challenge throughout the day, the weather couldn't make its mind up what it wanted to do. I have posted more on my Flickr page.
