        thanks guys

it's an interesting area to explore.
the most interesting were the derelict buildings along the waters edge up by the big lifting bridge which have now gone and are being replaced by flats and a new Premier Inn - wont be quite the same

Like that. Gloucester's not the sort of place one normally associates with docks and quays...

                A good picture Stan.

Nothing wrong with Gloucester El Sid :D :D

I work within a 2 minute walk of where you took this picture Stan :) - I've had some interesting shots myself in the past around the docks and I know what you mean about the derelict warehouses - they had to go unfortunately as a year or two back, one of the did-used warehouses suffered a big fire and sadly a vagrant was killed in that too as they used it for cover / a home.

Also the rest of the docks / quays has had some major investment over the last few years and this is just another one of these phases. If ever you are up this way again, give me a shout, it would be nice to meet up and have a pint and get some tips off you - always love your pics.

                Cheers.

we often stay overnight having been to Gigrin and then on to Slimbridge the following day so dont often have the opportunity to shoot around the quays. This visit was supposed to be a photo day at The Barn Owl Centre last Friday but it was called off due to the weather. As we had already booked the hotel we decided to come anyway as we had arranged to visit a friend on Saturday afternoon.

Weather being fine, the Barn Owl day has been rearranged for next Friday but this time we will go up and back on the day

I never said there was... Just that I associate it more with the cathedral and the county town aspects connected to the rural aspects of the county it gives it's name to...

I tried to get the day off work as would have booked onto it as I have looked at this for a while now dropping hints to family for a present LOL...
