    Roseberry Topping and Hay Bales

This image required me to travel about a mile from home, a pleasant walk but not with a full camera bag and tripod.
I had noticed the hay bales last week as I passed by but without my camera. I thought that by now the farmer would have moved the bales to his storage. However as the day brightened up (we've had a rain storm since I made this image earlier today) I decided to go and see if he had, as you see the farmer has obviously been busy elsewhere.

To my eyes the clouds just make this image.

Re: Roseberry Topping and Hay Bales

Thanks gentlemen for taking time to look and comment. I'm enjoying these little trips out to capture landscapes with this type of cloud formations. The TV weather forecast people seem to suggest that the position of the jet stream is providing these weather conditions.

Re: Roseberry Topping and Hay Bales

While the clouds are interesting, to me they look rather unnatural. They seem to be converging towards the horizon. I couldn't find out, even on Flickr, what focal length was used, but I assume it must be an extreme wide angle, that does give this effect if it's not absolutely level. I've noticed the same thing on here in quite a few images, especially those taken on the 11 - 24 mm.
Also, there is that effect of the sky being much deeper blue in the centre than to each side, from which I assume you must have used a polarising filter where that effect is well known when used with wide angle lenses.
Oh, and it's straw not hay.
I still like it but I think it could have been even better.
