    Royal Scot

SWMBO and I were visiting the outlaws near Tiverton today and I suggested that we went early and tried to catch the Royal Duchy excursion which was being pulled by 46100 Royal Scot.

I could only try and pick a spot via Google maps and in the end it turned out not to be as open a view of the track as I had hoped. In particular, the foliage you can see below in the bottom LH corner belonged to a tree which was very close to the track and precluded any reasonable side view.

So I made do with what was available and the result is below (at least we had some smoke!).

Lovely to see the old timers and in far better condition than when they were earning their keep.

      Sounds like me!

Lovely shot of a favourite class of locomotive. I grew up near the WCML and the 'Scots' were a regular sight. Never as clean though.

Indeed - I suspect these days they are washed and polished to within an inch of their life!
