Problems with Light Room

I was wondering if anyone has ideas about this issue.

I'm just processing the first batch of RAW files from my new 6D Mk II. All CR2 files as normal. LR will not import them or show a preview. I have no issues processing them in ACR of PS.

Anyone come across this before?

Also, no preview in WINDOWS either with the new CR2 files.

You will probably have to wait for an update to lightroom as the 6D Mk II. is so new that lightroom is unable to recognise the raw files

The update is out as I am having no issue in LR w/the 6DMKII. I did have to load the update

Just checked and LR is saying it's up-to-date. Tom, not sure if you are using a PC or MAC and therefore if you have the same issues but if I view in Windows 10; examples extra large icon no preview of the CR2 file is appearing. It always used to.

Tony are you using the creative cloud version of a perpetual version of Lightroom?

The following is from the "Lightroom Queens" Blog, it seems that the 6D2 is a supported camera.

What happened to 2015.11 / 6.11?

You’re not missing anything… there wasn’t a 2015.11 / 6.11 release. Lightroom uses the Camera Raw engine, so the version numbering is closely tied. The next Camera Raw release would have been 9.11, but out of respect for the tragic events that unfolded on that date, Adobe decided to skip that version number.

New camera support:

• Canon EOS 6D Mark II

CC Peter. It's saying up to date but it may be they have not rolled the updates to me yet. I've seen that before.

Thanks for that Peter. All Apps including LR are reporting as up to date but camera RAW version is still 9.9, not 9.12; so I guess that's the problem.

Tony, I believe that you can force it to update by deleting the application (But not your catalogue) and reinstalling it

Off topic I know, but this statement just leaped out at me. Really? Would anyone really have been offended by Adobe using a release number of 9.11 for one of its photographic software products? I hadn't noticed anyone else stopping using those particular numbers (the US emergency services, for example). This is utter madness, and where does it stop? OK, rant over.

Got it sorted. Adobe support were connected to my PC trying all sorts of things for over two hours. Finally they removed and reinstalled LR and it updated with Camera Raw 9.12 so I can now se the 6D MK II RAW files.
