    Hi Stan; Good spot... & well done in getting top & bottom...
    I found one of these at WWT Barnes a year or so back, but the breeze was blowing way too much to get a shot off.
    Common along the south coast (I understand) but now spreading north...

      Nice shots, showing the zig-zag web. As Lee said, quite common in southern parts now. One of the best places to see them is RSPB Rainham Marshes.

        thanks guys

        yes they do seem more common now, there were 4 of them at Arne, this one was the biggest and the only one in a reasonable position for a shot
