    focus

I have recently purchased the 750d and find that the 18/55 telephoto lens only auto focuses at the mid range setting when the camera is set on a, is this a fault?

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum.

This sounds like a fault to me. Can you give more info? I assume by mid range settings you are talking aperture? When you are set on "A" are you talking aperture priority, ie AV?

Mike could also mean the A+ (fully automatic) mode. I have this 750D & lens combo and although I haven't used the kit lens that much I don't recall having any issues, so yes looks like a fault.

              Re: focus

OK as you are new to a SLR we will start with the basics, look on the side of the lens, is it set to manual or automatic focus?, it needs to be set to AF (Auto Focus) if it is at MF ( manual focus ) the focus is controlled by you on the lens by turning the very front ring and not the camera. Hence you may find it is set at a specific point, check that first, if at MF flick the switch to AF and try again.
