    Changed 70-200 L lens

I have been using a 70-200 f4 is L lens for quite a long time now but had been wanting an f2.8 is but couldn't afford a new one but today at my local shop I have exchanged my f4 for a secondhand f2.8 it looks to be in very good condition. My only concern is the weight but felt I needed to really try this out cos in lo light it will be so much better than the f4.

I know lots of people on the site use the 2.8 and are extremely happy with it.

I haven't taken many pics this year though due my partner having had a serious accident & myself having just had some major surgery on my spine. So hoping to get back into taking pics in about 3-4 weeks.

    Hi Sue.

It is a chunk heavier than the F4, but well worth the weight penalty. Enjoy your new toy.

Yup, more light = lots more glass.. enjoy it, they are fine lenses, if its going to be an issue weight wise, consider getting a monopod for it.

I hope you and your partner are both getting back to fighting fitness... well maybe not fighting, but you know what I mean.

Its not a light lens, but the image quality is superb, and the extra aperture is worth it.

Thanks for the helpful comments but no idea where to start with a monopod & especially what kind of head would be the easiest to use

Sue the spare one I had I gave to Nat as it was rattling around in the boot, it was a manfrotto that is ally and light, Nat is getting on in years and weight is an issue so he is happy with it, the head only pivots up down, you swivel by rotating it all, you can see the thread here, hope you are on the mend, the head is also a quick release, you attach a plate to the lens foot the click and lock it to the head.
