    5D Mkll Activations

How can I find out how many activations a 5D Mkll has had. A friend of mine is about to buy a SH one and was wondering how much use it had had. It looks in good nic
I've played about with mine to try and find out, but don't seem to be anyway of telling.

Also seem to recall that some activations in live view aren't recorded properly. Can't recall the exact details though.

i do know that canon have actively disabled the ability to get shutter counts in most of there modern cameras but not sure if the mkii is one of them . you did used to be able to download a free shutter count piece of software but i'm not even sure if thats available still

Thanks Peter, ant, Jeff It appears that its not supported - seems a pity that Canon has done away with this ability on newer cameras, I wonder why.

            Re: 5D Mkll Activations

Shutter count software is available for the EOS 5D Mark II. See:

Initially, Dire Studio had problems updating ShutterCount for EOS camera released since 2015. They have now resolved the issue - but for their Mac OS software.

However, their software for Windows and Mac OS is compatible with the EOS 5D Mark II and many other EOS cameras. All the information you need is on their website.
