Weather it`s right or wrong to re introduce them , there is no denying how cute they are . I think your very lucky to have the opportunity to see them , and get such a cracking photo .

Thanks everyone for looking and your comments.
Personally I don't think it a good idea, but they are here and time will tell.
They are breeding and no doubt before long the young will disperse and set themselves up in another river system. There's mixed feelings about them. What is going to happen when the river comes into full flood and the Lodge is washed down river and gets jammed under the village bridge - major flooding!

Super shot ,I think the reasoning is that the beaver lodges won't get washed out by floods ,there more intelligent builders than humans ,and a a series of dams will prevent flooding as well .thats the theory anyway

It's a lovely picture and certainly ticks the cute box.

However, part of me is thinking Grey Squirrels, Mink, American Crayfish etc. etc. etc.

well caught, and an emotive subject, there are plans afoot to introduce them into a river system in west wales, should they get permission.
