    Pinmill

A set of three from Pinmill on Saturday. It's an interesting little place on the river Orwell near Ipswich. As you can see some neglected boats...

Cheers Paul; I was beginning to think everyone was anti-boat

        Lovely scenes.

I love this kind of maritime dereliction, but on my screen, looks a touch overexposed.

Thanks Colin. I'd be interested to know what others think re the exposure. They look OK on my laptop which has a great screen but I may have to calibrate my PC monitor again.

I'm not certain if they are slightly over exposed but they have an HDR look to them. What sort of pp did you do

Just ACR and PS. My normal workflow with shadows, highlights, blacks and whites (Anthony Morganti style), slight colour adjustments etc; no HDR software. Then levels and few other bits in PS. I was trying to bring them to life a little without the full HDR effect.

A nice set Tony - but I'm afraid I have to go with the flow on the exposure - the first looks fine to me, but the second two look a bit over - if you compare the weeds (rather than the seaweed) in 1 & 2 , you'll see what I mean.

Nice compositions and the first one is spot on, but nos. 2 & 3 do look a tad over to me too.

It's a nice location (the pub there's pretty good!) although it would be nice of there were a nicer walk along the estuary (if there is one we never found it!). The last time we were there we ended up going through a boatyard and then having to cut inland, losing the views of the river.

It did look like a nice Adnams pub. Sadly we didn't have time to stop......next time.

Thanks all for the feedback. I've tweaked the exposure a little on all three. Flickr and post updated.

Hi Tony; looks like I'm coming in a bit late here; but if I'm now looking at adjusted images; they do appear a little bright on my screen! Apart from that I'm enjoying the set; looks like the sort of place you could spend a long while playing.

If I might suggest; to me #3 would benefit from cropping off a little left, right & bottom to concentrate the eye of the three key elements that work well as a triangle. I also toned down the sky while playing to see how much detail there was in there... (Hope you don't mind the edit... I'll take it down immediately if required...)
