    Common Darter Flight

Each year I try to get at least one dragonfly in flight but opportunities this year have been few and far between until Saturday at Arne and this common darter decided to co operate

Well done! I've tried many times, and failed many times, to get a similar shot so far this year!

          thanks guys

they move so fast and erratic there is little chance of catching one moving. The secret is to watch them and you will find that like when they perch they return to the same perch time and again, similarly they will hover momentarily and will come back to the same sort of area again. So I vaguely focus on the water in the general area, wait for the dragon to come and fire off a burst and hope you get him in the frame

With this one I was very lucky, a burst of seven and they were all pinsharp
