    Fungi Clump

    Spotted a few fungi in the forest today, a sure sign of an early autumn !! As with many varieties it is quite a challenge to get a positive ID but from my book, I would hazard a guess at one of the tuft or woodtuft family

    Nicely seen and captured Stan, but I wouldn't want them next to my bacon and eggs.

      Lovely shot Stan, I would say they are Brick Caps Hypholoma sublateritium. But as you say its something of a challenge with so many looking the same

            I would say they are Brick Caps Hypholoma sublateritium
            yes that was the page in Collins I was looking at which calls them brick tuft rather than caps but the latin is spot on

                      Did you do anything re lighting? Flash and or reflector?

                        Did you do anything re lighting? Flash and or reflector?
                        no just natural light - it was off the main path in an overall shaded area but fungi itself was lit by light coming throgh the trees
