    Corfe Castle

On holiday we visited Corfe Castle, a challenge to capture bits without the masses of people but I did my best...

      Thanks very much Brian.
I'd got the starbursts by mistake on an image and decided to try for it on that one to see what it looked liked and was pleased with the result.

            Cheers guys, much appreciated.
It's good when a shot pans out how you intended.

looks like you got some blue skies as well which these days is a bit of a bonus.

I think the converging verticals are a bit too much, often difficult to avoid when shooting from within the grounds. I find the best place to shoot is from the hills outside the castle where you can get the view looking down and also a good one is from the footbridge at the station especially when there is a train at the platform - just had that one printed ready to be mounted for a craft fair we are doing in a few weeks

                I know what you mean.
But it was tricky to get shots without people in, and the wide angle lens was the only way to get everything in shot.
Ideally I'd have had space to allow for correcting the verticals, but crowds didn't allow.
I'll bear it all in mind for the future though as it's definitely good feedback.

                    Re: Corfe Castle

Its a lot easier when you live within a few miles as I do, the castle is illuminated over Christmas which is good for shooting but I have never got the classic shot with the low mist at sunrise - probably cos I cant get up early enough

That's a shot I'd get up early for, but then I'm an early bird.
