Makes me think they seem to be rather more interested in the technology than the end result...
I also feel there's an element of their having pitched their expectations a bit high. I was further amused by the comments on the DR of the 5Ds models being lower than the regular version - like everything in the real world it's a matter of balance and compromise, if you double the pixel count in the same area the pixels will be much smaller and their maximum capacity is reduced which inevitably has a knock on effect on DR and noise control.
I also think when comparing 'innovation' to Nikon and Sony they ought to remember that Nikon have been some way behind for quite a long time and much of the innovation is just catching up with where Canon are now. Sony must inevitably look innovative with the Alpha 7 since no other maker has a full frame CSC while Nikon don't even have a decent small format one...
I do agree that Canon's approach to CSC's has been a bit lacklustre and they still have some way to go but the latest M models are much more on track.Nigel
