    Departures...

....I took this whilst waiting at Belfast Airport....I thought the shapes of the almost silhouetted figures looked good. I've highlighted a few features to add more information into the image. 100D and 24mmSTM ISO1600

    Opinions and critique are welcome....

    Re: Departures...

    I rather like that Brian.

Just enough information through the window to show it is an airport lounge and the mono effect indicates that an airport lounge is a necessary, but not particularly pleasant experience. There is somebody's shoe creeping into shot at the bottom right which I would remove, but extending that thought, I would be tempted to crop out the figure on the right to provide a tighter composition.

Thanks Colin...I agree the shoe should go....I liked the three foreground figures making a diagonal from bottom left to top right though. Thanks for your views...always very welcome.

Nice work and edits Brian, the guy on the phone looking at the camera doesn't look too pleased to be having his picture taken.

                  Re: Departures...

Nice image, Brian. The sans foot version works best for me, although there is still a smidgeon of the foot left that I would remove by cloning and not cropping. I like how that right hand side is now framed by the window frame.
For me, in the tighter crop the dark body of the chap on the left dominates too much and then your focus goes to the bright handle of the case and doesn't explore the rest of the image. With sans foot there is more room to breathe and look around, and I find the empty chair strangely evocative.

                    Re: Departures...

Thanks Peter and Alex......the situation was that I was with a client and he was interested in the 100D....so I kind of used this situation to demonstrate to him, by taking a shot and then showing the results to him immediately as I took each shot.....so I don't think anyone would be too concerned.

Nobody has complained to me yet......except there was a beggar (for want of a better term) by Grand Central in Glasgow that I seem to recall shouting towards me.....'hey you with the cam-er-ra!"....but I didn't take much notice and he was sitting under an umbrella in the rain....and didn't look capable of becoming a threat.
