    Cloisters

    I've taken loads of these so I'm always looking for something different. With this one I wanted to show all the detail inside whilst exposing outside, which wasn't that easy due to very bright sunshine and the cloisters in a lot of shade. Used 7 exposures, but please with it

        Re: Cloisters

        Very good indeed Gothic darkness would have been interesting but you'd have lost all that lovely detail and honey stonework both inside and out in the sunshine. Yes, you did exceptionally well to retain the outside detail.

        Cheers,
        John

          You may have taken loads, Ian, but keep 'em coming, particularly when they are as good as this. Lovely detail outside and beautiful tones and textures within.

                    I agree as above....as john says it would be a shame to lose the stone colour and detail.

                        Re: Cloisters

                        Hi Ian; it looks to me as if the bottom right needs pulling out just a tad to straighten up the floor and walls. The ceiling on the right is already warped, so I don't think that will impact it at all. Might be worth a play. Other than that, yet another stunningly detailed shot. Nice work.
                        Cheers;

                            Very good work Ian and you've got some worthy positive comments already. Blending 7 exposures is quite something. Where the stone work has dark areas (the sections with the blue sky directly behind) is that a shadow? It caught my eye as the stonework near it is that lovely honey colour John referred to.

                              cheers for the feedback guys. Yes Lee I'll have a look at that, and the dark bit Tony is very heavy shadow that just didn\t look right pulling up
