A lovely pose Andy, the only downside is the background is very noisy which is quite surprising at only ISO 640. Did you sharpen the whole image ? - if so that has probably not helped - always best to sharpen on a seperate layer and mask so that it is just your subject that is sharpened

It`s nice ! Perhaps cropped and over sharpened a tad to much . Don`t think it needs to be cropped quite so tight , would still work if not so big in the frame .

It looks noisier here than directly on my PC, I shall have to strive to do better.

          Thanks for the comments.

This version is a little less noisy, I think.

It's very sharp, but I'm not sure about the colours. On my monitor it looks over saturated. There is also a highlight just above the birds head that could be cloned out.

got to agree with all the comments ,theres something not quiet right about the birds colours etc it even shows on the post its on .a dark halo around parts of the bird and post point to oversharpening

Lovely shot Andy, but must agree it seem very much over saturated to me rather than over sharpened. There again it could be my screen.

                    Re: Buzzard at Rest

The second version of the original is very good.....I'm not into bird photography so I only offer a generalist view.....I like the saturated colours which provide a robust solid image befitting the substantial subject. The last one you posted is good too....looks very more natural. But its only better if that is your intended outcome....depends on if are you trying to produce an attractive image for the sake of the image or are you trying to accurately describe the scene.

                        Re: Buzzard at Rest

I'm more pleased with the last one because the colours are more accurate. My screen calibration has been a bit off recently so it isn't always obvious to me if those are unrealistic.

Andy, that seems more natural colours - yes that's better

Last one is 100% better , though still to tight in the frame for my taste .
