    The Hermitage Looking Upstream.

Last week I and the current Mrs S, attended number one sons wedding at this wonderful location. We had a great time on the day the weather wasn't too bad, it was dull and overcast but at least it stayed dry. I wasn't allowed my camera on the day as both the bride and groom wanted me to be part of their day and not the photographer. Needless to say the next morning regardless of the rain I revisited the location and did what a photographer does.

This is one of my images taken from the bank side looking up to the bridge. The bridge did feature in a number of the professional photographers wedding day images. I'm looking forward to seeing the official photographs, they're sure to be great as she was using two Canon bodies

Beautifully captured scene, Peter, you've caught the water really well and a lovely textured foreground. I can see why you wanted to go back and you've done it justice.

Thanks gentlemen for taking time to look and comment. I made a vertical version but this framing was the stronger of the two. I would have liked to see a little bit more of the waterfall beyond the bridge but that would have required wet legs or a canoe [emoji6]

Most people would be taking the falls from inside of the Hermitage, so I like it when “ tourist” take it from a different angle, excellent. Did you see any Salmon under the bridge? Would have loved to joined you & watched you at work.

David, I didn’t look for salmon whilst I was there. But I did hear people discussing them.
I have other images both from inside the Hermitage looking upstream (mainly as a reminder of the view from where the Bride and Groom made their vows) and from further upstream looking towards the Hermitage and the bridge. Plus some from the bridge looking upstream.
I got even closer to you as we called in to the House of Bruar for refreshments. I had intended to capture some images of Bruar Falls but the current Mrs S didn’t fancy walking up as the weather was dreich.
Next time we travel North I’ll let you know, it was a bit full on this time around.

Made the mistake of looking at this one on the iPad earlier and thought it looked a bit flat. Now looking at it on Flickr on the iMac it suddenly jumps to life. Don't know what the shutter speed was but it seems just right to put the patterns in the water.
