    A visit to Chirk Castle

A very interesting castle....started in 1295...as one of the Welsh Border Castles, then home to the Middleton family and in early 20th century leased to Howard de Walden...who invested heavily having made his money from importing saffron....from which the town of Safron Walden is apparently named....I hope the guide wasn't making this up!

This is also my first proper outing with the 200D and using the 18-55STM only.

Thanks All, Derek ....no I didn't, is there one there?...the only one I could see was the MDF factory bellowing out steam constantly.....but otherwise an unspoilt landscape.

I think the 200D is a very good performer....not really tried it with primes yet...used only STM zooms so far.....the 55-250STM seems to take a long time to focus which I'd noticed on the 100D but seems slower is anything on the 200D.
