    A/F failure

    Been noticing over the last month that my auto focus has been playing up a bit ,done micro adjusts ,camera resets etc but with not that much improvements overall .today on the kingfisher hunt ,I got the bird smack bang dead centre of the focus point took several shots and every one is a total blur . Tried the lens later on on the wife’s 7d and had 4 misses out of 200 shots .
    I then phoned up wex and they e.mailed a pre.paid return label ,so it’s off to them hopefully they can repair it .lucky jan doesn’t like going out in the winter much so I can use the 7D

    That's grim Jeff. Hopefully you won't be without it for long.

        With gear there can be a tendency to blame yourself for it's failure to perform as you want, only to find it was broken all along

          I guess the good news is that you bought it from Wex. Had it been from a private seller on EBay any repairs would be down to you to arrange and pay for. Hope they sort it.
          Do you know how much the camera had been used e.g. shutter count?

            Good luck Jeff... I had a 7D that I gave up on... After twice returning it to Canon with an AF fault it never was right... so it went in exchange for a 70D (since upgraded to my 80D...).
            Cheers;

              it was around 90 thousand when I got it in may ,trouble is its a intermittent fault but I do know I have been binning more and more shots lately .lets see what they come up with never had a warranty fault before . its also in extremely good condition for a used model 1D4 cosmetically lets just hope its a viable repair cost wise

                Thats really bad news Jeff esp as the KF is such a "rare" bird around the North West. I hope your camera is sorted out quickly. Hope you have better luck with Jan's camera.
