    Re: Southwold Pier

My local pier in Paignton points due east so perfect for a shot using it as a lead in to the rising sun. This makes a stunning picture but one I've never taken as so, so, so many others have been there before. Southwold Pier has been captured many times as well but, I suspect, few photographers will have had the vision to include these rocks and they transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary which, coupled with the long exposure and perfect processing, it becomes exceptional. Very good work indeed

    Cheers,
    John

An excellent shot. I agree with John that it required someone with the vision to see the whole picture and take the "right" shot, not just the "usual" shot.

Great winters colours, the sky is beautiful with the light just right.

Lovely image, Tony, beautiful long exposure and processing as always. Really like how the rocks mimic the pier, I'm even seeing the pier legs being referenced in the cut marks of the stone.

Thanks Alex. I never really paid too much attention to the cut marks in the stone when I was there but now I'm intrigued how they got there.
