Hi Richard; FWIW, there's a mass of reviews for the lens out there on the WWW... Look for 200-500 not 100-500... As an aside, the guy who's kit I was playing with is a professional 'tog, and the 200-500 is his wildlife go to lens of choice - moreso than the big Nikon primes!!!

        Re: camera update

Sorry correction, it was the 200 500 that the review I mentioned was looking at, my typing of 100 - 500 was an error.

        The review is here :https://photographylife.com/reviews/...500mm-f5-6e-vr

When I look at reviews I only take into account those by sites that scientifically test a lot of lenses and can compare one with another, not user reviews where someone may only have used a few lenses.

Still, all of those tests show the Sigma Contemporary version is nowhere near as good as the Sports at 600 mm but there are still loads of really good sharp shots on line using it, plenty good enough for me.

          Re: camera update

As I said a couple of pages back I did have a go with my lads 200-500 yesterday on his full frame D750 ,he set it up for me ,and although good there was nothing outstanding that gave me the must have factor ,the one good thing that has come out of all this is that I have now managed to buy a brand new one for cash ,whereas my old one was on the drip ..plus I have enough left over from the refund and wheeling and dealing to fund a half decent wide angle lens . Might even be able to get her indoors a Xmas pressie
