That is great image; wonder what the chap with the beard thought he was missing?
    Great PP as always.

        Re: Night Cafe

Very nice. I particularly like the way there's an oasis of light and clarity that separates the couple and the family from the rest of the scene, particularly towards the left-edge.

Is the basis of your processing the Morganti method? The one where you put highlights/shadows to -100/+100 and then set the black and white points? it has that characteristic pleasing look about it.

          Re: Night Cafe

thanks Andy. This only had basic editing in LR and didn't use Morganti method and only colour balance, lens correction and verticals, it then was moved to Aurora as I wanted to use a preset and pulled it back 50% then painted it into the areas I wanted, then into Luminar for the bulk of the processing that was mostly bodging and burning.

I did do a lot of work with the shadows but had I just pushed to the max highlights/shadows I would not have got the shade / light parts to the image.. But glad you liked it

Saying that a lot of my work in LR does follow his highlights/shadows to -100/+100

Really like this one, Tigger. Great atmosphere and worth the work in PP

I'm always interested to see the before pic too- shows what can be squeezed out of an image once you've got an idea going!

Lovely image, Ian, and a wonderful example for us of converting a sow's ear (as I would of thought if it was one of mine, as I consigned it to the trash) into a platinum coated silk purse. Wonderful atmospheric result.
