    Ightham Mote

We visited Ightham Mote (National Trust) recently - a most interesting place and well worth a visit.

A nice sharp image from a great viewpoint of an interesting building A bit of a halo around the chimneys but I can forgive that

    Cheers,
    John

Probably a consequence of my trying to make the sky a little more appealing - it was a dull day - non-enhanced version below - I think the slight halo is probably a price worth paying.

Now I didn't think for one second that wasn't the right sky for the shot, so well done for that. And, although there appears to be a very slight halo effect here, I can't see any on your original Flickr version, so must be something with the upload from Flickr.

I should perhaps make it clear that it is the right sky, just enhanced in LR with an adjustment brush with some dehaze and a bit of shift towards the blue end of the hue control.

Very nice image of a beautiful building, John, and thanks for showing what you've pulled from the sky. Great job. And well controlled verticals at 11mm.

I took exactly the same shot two weeks ago John and I don't think the sky has changed. Did you have to crop in from the left to exclude the barriers, as they were still rebuilding the wall.

I'm not surprised about the sky! I was obliged to crop a little on each side since I had taken it as a two-shot pano. The chap mending the wall had moved along a bit and so was almost out of shot, but on re-looking I see that I have left a smidgeon of his flourescent jacket showing - rats!

I'm sure I've seen this building on a programme about the National Trust and restoration. Looks a beautiful building. Well shot. I'd be tempted to clone the aireal lightening protector on the tower though. [emoji106]
