Funnily enough, I was thinking earlier today that we have Black Friday coming up and I don't have any new lenses on my current wish-list. The 15-85 is the only one now that I use fairly regularly that I could upgrade if I were of a mind but I'm not sure what with. I think I'd need two to cover it, so perhaps I'll keep it for a while yet.

Beware about Black Friday, the prices are not all they are knocked up to be, they have an article on the Beeb news site where a lot of stuff in Currys sale has been cheaper earlier on.

Consumer group Which? finds 60% of products were cheaper or the same price on other days of the year.

Definitely buyer beware.. .there are not a lot of true deals....it's more of a marketing gimmick over here in the UK. ...

There are bargains to be had, but you do have to be careful. The trick, as always, is to know exactly what you want and what the going price has been and how it has changed over a period.

As usual, Canon seems to be in control over prices and what offers their authorised dealers can make, so that each one has the same offers.

For anyone looking for a tele zoom, the 70 - 300 IS II seems to be a very good offer at present, it appears (if I've read it correctly) you can get £85 off directly and then claim another £85 cashback, saving £170 total off the recent going price of £429, leaving it at just £259. Seems to be pretty good for a recent model with decent sharpness and excellent AF and IS, according to reviews. Had I not recently bought the Sigma 100 - 400 C, it's definitely one I'd be looking at.
