    Trip to Lapland advice please...

I am going to Lapland for 3 nights and I need advice about taking photos in snow and of the Northern lights if they show?
I have a Canon ESO 5D Mark iii and a Canon FE24-105 F4 L USM lens. Is there anything I need to do to protect the camera from the cold? Do I need any filters? Any help is much appreciated.

Chris - see my response under your posting in the monthly theme section. As to filters, they should be removed - apparently you can odd colour fringes if you use them.

Oh - and turn off stabilisation as you will be on a tripod.
