    Great spotted Woodpecker

Shot on Monday in quite overcast and windy conditions at Holton Lea reserve. The feeders in front of the hide attracted volumes of birds including the woodpeckers of which there were three on different feeders at the same time at one point. The only problem is lack of "natural" perches but at least this is wooden The GSW was all puffed up against the wind

As you say Stan perches not the best, but doable and you do get a good background and great feather detail.
